Evaluate 1.1.3 – The Summative Assessment Quest

Evaluate 1.1.3 – The Summative Assessment Quest

Image result for summative assessment

Summative Assessment is the end result of all of the formative assessments, feedback, etc.... Summative assessments must be valid- are they measuring what we want them to measure? Summative assessments must be relibale- are they consistent in producing the score and assessment on students. And most importantly summative assessments must be secure and have security protocols in place.

This is a summative assessment for the end of my gifted endorsement program- teachers will complete this project- a Gifted-in-service Workshop/Video/Live Webinar after finishing all four classes. Attached are the directions and instructions as well as the rubric.

Gifted Endorsement Program
Final Culminating Project- Gifted In-Service Workshop/Video/Live Webinar
Instructions
*You are to develop a Workshop/Video/Live Webinar for Regular Education Teachers at your school.
*This is to be a CULMINATING/Summative assessment project- including all that you have learned in your four gifted endorsement courses: Characteristics, Methods and Materials, Assessment, and Curriculum Programming.
Outline for Workshop/Video/Live Webinar
1.      This can be done in a group. Make sure you present this to YOUR faculty, so if you have folks in your group who are not from your school you will need to present this to their schools, as well. Or send the link to your faculty. OR set up the live webinar link, advertise and push it out to your faculty.
2.      Make your principal aware of this final assignment- set a date for this presentation with your principal. You will need 20-30 minutes for this workshop or video or webinar.
3.      Your administrator or gifted resource/lead teacher in your school will score you on the rubric. Please give this to them ahead of time. When it is completed send this to your gifted endorsement instructor via the courier. Make yourself a copy and send original.
4.      Make your workshop interactive, hands-on, entertaining, and creative for your teachers. Just a PowerPoint is NOT creative. Make it engaging!!!
5.      Make sure to include the following in your workshop:
A)      State and federal definitions of gifted
B)      State Multiple Criteria for eligibility- mental ability, achievement, motivation and creativity
C)      Characteristics of gifted- stereotypes, myths, special populations
D)      Materials and Resources to use with gifted students including but not limited to books, websites, games, etc.
